Summer DMYFS Day Trips for Teens Now Registering

Need a fun day trip this summer? Join DMYFS for one of our Summer Day Trips for Teens and Tweens!

It is not too late to register for Summer Day Trips for Teens!  Together we'll have fun exploring musical theater or the wonders of our oceans.  Gather a few friends or meet new ones with DMYFS on each fun filled trip.

Trip #1:  Broadway's Hairspray at The Ivoryton Playhouse

Join Durham Middlefield Youth and Family Services for a matinee performance of this popular Broadway hit!  We will We will picnic on the grounds of the Ivoryton Theater prior to the show and receive a backstage glimpse following the show.

Time:  11:30 PM-5:00 PM

For teens entering grades 7-12 in fall 2012

Cost:  $50 per participant

Trip Leaders:  Jane Moen and Betsy Dean, DMYFS Staff

Trip #2:  Mystic Aquarium and Institute for Exploration

Join us for a day at the amazing Mystic Aquarium, & Institute for Exploration! We'll see all the exhibits including the Beluga Whales, take in theSteller Sea Lions Show and even attend a showing of Sponge Bob in the Ocean Exploration Center's new 4D Theater.  We will also visit Mystic's Special exhibits which include a ray and shark touch pool, a penguin exhibit, and a jelly gallery.

We will take time for The Institute for Exploration's featuring maps, diagrams, and models from Dr. Robert Ballard's explorations of the Black Sea and of the wreck of the RMS Titanic.  

Time: 11:00 PM-5:00 PM

For tweens entering grades 5-8 in fall 2012

Cost: $45 per participant


Logistics for Both Summer Day Trips:

Transportation: all Summer Day Trips depart and drop off at Durham Library NOT DMYFS.  Please meet at library nfront entrance.

Lunch:  All participants bring their own lunch and beverages.  Coolers will be available and an afternoon will be snack provided.

Registration:   Limited to 10 participants.  Go to www.DMYFS.org and click "programs" for registration forms and instructions for registration.

Spending  Money:   Spending money is not necessary for summer day trips.  If a teen would like to bring additional $ for a souvenir, it is their responsibility regarding its use and handling during the program.  We suggest no more than $20 please.
