The 3rd Annual L.A.M.P. (Light Artists Making Places) Event

9Arts, with support from Connecticut Office of the Arts, New Haven’s Office of Art, Culture and Tourism and Projects 2K, will host national and regional light projection artists and a variety of performers, music and community participants as they join forces with the merchants of the Ninth Square to present the third annual L.A.M.P. (Light Artists Making Places) event.

Renowned artists such as Vicki DaSilva and Mark Mulchay will take part in this year’s event. The event will also highlight the work of Connecticut’s own Projects 2K. This year’s L.A.M.P. focuses on New Haven’s historic “Great Shippe” of 1647. On October 4th, this mysterious “Phantom ship” of the colony of New Haven will return from her ill-fated voyage during this year’s L.A.M.P.

L.A.M.P. is New England’s premier light event. This year’s L.A.M.P. event will capture the spirit and history of New Haven’s “Phantom ship”. Artists at this event will project illuminations, both large and small, using new and old technology with a variety of projection devices.
