SCORE To Host Free Workshop on Business Finances

The Key Financial Steps For Your Small Business From Start-Up to Operations



In this free workshop, you’ll learn the major elements
of small business finances that ensure success, from start-up planning to establishing
relationships with financial institutions. Areas highlighted will include the
value of key documents such as a business plan, financial statements, and
resources available to small businesses. This workshop is intended to be
interactive, incorporating participant experiences.

Workshop Presenter Bill Ward is a certified SCORE mentor, team
leader for Middletown Mentoring team and River West Workshop Co-Chair. Bill
worked for several major corporations in engineering, technical and field sales
and market development roles. During his working life, he also spent several
years as an independent sales representative prior to joining the company from
which he retired as their Director of Marketing Engineering which included
International sales. In addition to sales and marketing, Bill has worked with
department budgets, revenue forecasts for cash flow projections, accounts
receivable and product profitability calculations, analyzing the impact of
supplier pricing on selling price. The slide presentation used is the creation
of another certified SCORE mentor who was unavailable for this date.



SCORE "Counselors to America's Small Business" is a
nonprofit association dedicated to the success of small business in America
offering free and confidential advice on starting your own business or
improving and growing your existing small business. All of our 40 counselors in
Southeast Connecticut are volunteers, receive no compensation, and are working
or retired business owners, executives, and managers. SCORE’s seven counseling
sites in Southeast Connecticut cover from Mystic to Guilford and north to
