An Evening With Dr. Bernie Siegel to benefit Carl's Crusaders/Closer to Free Ride

Dr. Bernie Siegel will speak at the Guilford Community Center on June 16 from 7-9 PM to benefit the Carl’s Crusaders team for the Closer to Free Bike Ride.  Dr. Siegel is the author of “The Art of Healing: Uncovering Your Inner Wisdom and Potential for Self-Healing.” This is a follow-up to his bestseller “Love, Medicine & Miracles” and updates Dr. Siegel’s insights into the healing power of positive thinking, drawing, dreams, and intuition. The use of drawing in Bernie’s practice has helped patients discover the physical, psychological, and emotional aspects of healing and guided them toward the best choices and options for their particular situation.

Held at the Guilford Community Center, 32 Church Street in the Guilford Room, the presentation takes place on Monday, June 16, from 7-9 PM.  Tickets are $20/per person, and are payable to “Carl’s Crusaders” or cash.  Tickets are available via Carl’s Crusaders Team Captain Christi Burton, 917-843-4110, or chburton@sbcglobal.net, along with being sold at Shift Cycling Center at 965 Boston Post Road, Guilford.

Carl’s Crusaders was created in memory of Lt. Carl Hubbard, who passed away at the age of 40 from a difficult seven-month battle with choriocarcinoma. He was a Guilford native, where he worked, lived and was a volunteer fireman for 20 years. Hubbard had been treated for more than 100 days at Smilow Cancer Hospital. His wife, Stacey Hubbard, joined together with nearly 70 devoted friends and family members to form Carl's Crusaders to honor his memory and, to date, have raised nearly $80,000 for Smilow Cancer Center at Yale New Haven Hospital.
