Snowgun Graveyard

More than four dozen snowguns once used at Powder Ridge Ski Area have been sold to another ski resort.

On Friday, crews will begin removing 53 snowguns from Powder Ridge Ski Area, as Alpine Ridge and the Town of Middlefield move closer to a closing date on the property.

The town sold the equipment to Catamount Ski Area in New York, which operates several hundred similar snowguns during the ski season.

The town received $250 for each snowgun.
