Ronnie Wallace, a renowned giant pumpkin grower from Greene, Rhode Island, has set a new world record.
Wallace, who captured the Durham Fair's heaviest pumpkin title this year with a 1,604 pound pumpkin, brought an even heavier gourd to this year's Topsfield Fair in Massachusetts.
The and the first to tip the scales at over a ton.
Patch spoke to Wallace shortly after his weigh-in in Durham and asked whether rumors about an even bigger pumpkin were true.
"The scale will tell us," he said.
Wallace won $15,000 for growing the world's largest pumpkin ever grown.
