More than 200 runners raced to the finish line at Peckham Park on Sunday during the Middlefield Lions Club's first annual Sprint Into Spring 5K and 10K race.
Middletown's Garri Saganenko was the first runner to cross the finish line, completing the 5K in 17:42 (a blistering 5:43 pace). Josh Stockdale of Durham won the 10K race with a time of 42:01 (a 6:47 pace).
Brooke Badon of Middlefield was the top woman's finisher in the 5K, with a time of 25:02 while Lavinia Vigue of Durham was the first woman to cross the finish line in the 10K, at 45:46.

The race is already the Middlefield Lions Club's second biggest fundraiser, behind only the Durham Fair, according to race organizer Mike Skelps.
The Middlefield Lions Club raises money for several charities, including the Fuel Bank and Food Bank, as well as local scholarships.
