Middlesex Chamber's Durham/Middlefield Division Supports Sale of Powder Ridge

"We don't know if there will be another opportunity like this."

Gene Chiappetta and Jennifer Ferri, co-chairs of the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce Durham/Middlefield Division announced that the Division voted unanimously to support the town of Middlefield in its agreement to sell the Powder Ridge Ski area to Alpine Ridge LLC of Pennsylvania.

The sale will include the entire 250-acre property that makes up the area.  Within the agreement, Alpine Ridge acknowledges and agrees to re-establish downhill skiing no later than December 31 of 2013.

“The revitalization of the Powder Ridge ski facility is absolutely critical to the economics of our region,” said Chamber president Larry McHugh.  “This facility has been a signature component to the County and we must act now to restore it because we do not know if there will be another opportunity like this.”
