is holding its 4th Annual Celebration of Chocolate this weekend, an event sure to satisfy every chocolate lover's cravings.
The event will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, inside the Old Town Hall (behind the church).
"It's gotten bigger every year," says organizer Dawn Tischbein, who took a few minutes out of her intense baking schedule Tuesday to talk with Patch.
"The event raised $1,200 last year. We have a lot of fun. The kids especially like the chocolate fountain. We have lots of goodies to put in that," she says.
Other chocolate treats available for sampling include cakes, cookies, cupcakes, candies, mousse, eclairs, chocolate dipped fruit and peanut butter cups made by church volunteers.
Tickets for the Celebration of Chocolate are $10 for adults, $5 for children 7 and under and are available at the door.
Once you're inside it's all you can eat. Take-out, packaged baked goods, and Valentine gifts will be sold as well.
"It's all to go to the general fund of the church. It's spread out amongst taking care of the buildings, mission work and all sorts of things," Tischbein says.
Killingworth Congregational Church is located at 273 Route 81, Killingworth.
