Please join us in honoring our Veterans on Friday, Nov. 11th, at 11 a.m. on the Durham Town Green. The ceremony will take place at the veterans’ memorial. Durham VFW Post 10169 will be officiating. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate by sharing their veterans’ stories. All are invited.

A Veterans Day ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the veterans memorial (Middlefield Firehouse). Middlefield/Rockfall VFW Post 10362 will officiate the event.
The Remembering Veterans Breakfast will be held on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Middlefield Firehouse. Click for details.

The following is a statement from First Selectman Cathy Iino:
"At the polls on Tuesday, I was struck by how many people spoke passionately to me about our taking for granted a right that people in other times and places have died for. Perhaps the reason was that Election Day fell so close to Veteran's Day this year. Today we recognize our own veterans who have fought and suffered to protect our right to govern ourselves, and often, to extend that right to others around the globe. We owe our veterans our profound thanks, and we honor them with our responsible exercise of the rights they have bravely defended."
