Help Yourself, Help Your Planet, And Help Your Library!

During the month of April, the Killingworth Library Association will be partnering with Shining Solutions and offering Energy Reducing CFL lightbulbs to raise funds to support programs and to help save the environment one lightbulb at a time! The Shining Solutions Fundraiser is supported by Connecticut Light and Power, United Illuminating and Connecticut Energy Efficient Fund.

You can help reduce our community's energy consumption and lower your electric bill. CFLs generate the same bright light as standard bulbs, but use 75 percent less energy and last 10 times longer. If you replace just five bulbs with CFLs, you would reduce your energy bill by about $60 a year, plus reduce harmful greenhouse gas emissions.

Order your lightbulbs in bundles of different sizes to suit your needs in April during our fundraiser, and they will be available in mid to late May for pickup at the library. There's a variety available, from standard spiral to the most popular specialty CFL styles - all last up to 10 times longer and are better for the environment. CFLs are sold in bundles/packs with 10 CFLs per pack. (Limit 3 bundles/packs per customer.)
