Update: Power Restored to Customers in Durham, Middletown

Power outage caused more than 300 customers to lose power Thursday afternoon.

Connecticut Light and Power has restored power to more than 300 customers in Durham and Middletown, after a downed power line caused residents and businesses to lose electricity for about an hour Thursday afternoon

According to spokesman Mitch Gross the company received a call shortly after 2 p.m. of a downed power line along Maiden Lane in Durham.

258 customers in Durham and another 46 in Middletown were affected by the outage, according to Gross.

The Durham Activity Center was without electricity for a short period of time. The facility is one of in town.

The outage lead to traffic detours along Main Street in Durham for a brief period.

As of 4 p.m., 10 customers still remained without power in Durham, although it is unclear if the outages are related.

It is unclear what lead to the outage.
