Daily Five: Got Drugs?, Adopt-A-Road and Free Supper

Five things to know for Friday, April 12, 2013.

1. What's the Weather? Rain, heavy at times. High near 47. Tonight: Rain likely, mainly before 10 p.m. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 38

2. Got Drugs? The Middlefield Resident Trooper's Office will be open from 10-2 p.m. on Saturday, April 27 for a prescription drug take back event. Last April, Americans turned in 552,161 pounds – 276 tons – of prescription drugs at over 5,600 sites operated by the DEA and nearly 4,300 state and local law enforcement partners.

3. Adopt-A-Road The Durham Middlefield Exchange Club invites you to help clean up the roads of Durham on April 13th. We meet at the Pavillon at Allen Brook at 8:00. We will hand out garbage bags with special ties to put on the roadside when filled. Coffee available .. Adpot your road or come out and help clean another road in town. We also can use help on Sunday, April 14th to clean up route 147.

4. Durham Historical Society Open Saturday The Durham Historical Society will be open to the public from 10-2 p.m. The Center Schoolhouse features exhibits which include textiles, war related items, and items manufactured in town.

5. Free Community Supper The Church of the Epiphany will sponsor a free community supper on Sunday, April 14, 2013 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the church hall at 196 Main St., Durham.  The main meal will be prepared by staff members at Twin Maples Health Care in Durham.  Members of the Church of Epiphany will provide desserts. Come and celebrate spring together - all are welcome!
