Daily Five: Killingworth Talks Budget Tonight, Durham Goes to the Dogs

Five things to know for Monday, May 21, 2012

 

1. What's the Weather? After beautiful weekend weather, the rain is expected to return today, according to the National Weather Service. Showers likely after 11 a.m. with a high near 66. Tonight: Showers likely, mainly before 10 p.m. with a low around 62.

2. Town Budget Meeting: Killingworth's budget will be presented and discussed tonight at Killingworth Elementary School starting at 8 p.m. However, no vote will be taken following , which will be held May 31.

3. Go Far, Go Fast: Registration is now open for this year's Go Far Road Race on June 16. Go Far is also looking for children interested marching in the Memorial Day parade in Durham. Follow this link to register or for more information.

4. In Case You Missed It: It was a busy weekend. Thousands of Girl Scouts on Saturday for the Girl Scouts' 100th Anniversary Jubilee. The Help Willy's Friends Pet Fair was held on Sunday. In Middlefield, a great turnout for the Middlefield Children's Center annual BBQ. In Killingworth, firefighters responded to a 3-car crash along Route 81 on Saturday.
