Daily Five: Public Hearing Tonight on Unfinished Athletic Complex

1. Weather: It was a bit chilly waking up this morning, but the National Weather Service says today is going to be mostly sunny, with a high near 65. A breeze of 5-10 mph from the Northeast. Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 39 and not much wind.

2: Public Hearing on Athletic Fields: Regional School District 13 has requested a 24 month extension from the Planning and Zoning Commission to complete a bathroom/team room facility at the new athletic fiel. The request will be discussed during a public hearing at 8 p.m. at the Durham Public Library. The facility will cost about $180,000, officials say. Originally, project officials said money for the facility would be raised through fundraising efforts but to date no money has been raised. (See correction below)

Correction: The orginal report stated "and last month the  leftover from the 2008 bond project to other line items in the 2012-2013 budget." $138,203 (exact amount) was the leftover or reimbursed amount for the wells and roofs projects, minus the $13,592 over expenditure for the athletic fields.
