Daily Five: PZC Puts Off Decision on Bathroom Project

Plus, recycle your old computer today and a presidential primary forum.


1. Weather: What can you say, it's April 19 and the National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies, with a high near 72. Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 44.

2. 'No Money for Bathrooms': On Wednesday night, Durham's Planning and Zoning Commission voted to continue a public hearing on a request by Regional School District 13 for a site plan extension to complete the bathroom facilities at the new athletic complex. Check back with Patch for more details of the meeting Friday.

3. Recycle Your Computer: Do you have an old computer or other electronic devices that you'd like to get rid of? You can recycle them today for FREE, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., at 's 3rd annual “Computer and Electronics Recycling Event.” (Anything with a cord or battery (except televisions) will be collected including computers, monitors, laptops, modems, toners, printers, fax machines, telephones, cables, server racks, batteries, Walkmen, and iPods.)

4. Presidential Primary Forum: The Durham Republican Town Committee will be holding a presidential primary forum at the at 7 p.m. Guest speakers are former Congressman and President of the University of New Haven, Larry DeNardis, who supports Mitt Romney and Chad Ciocci, Trumbull councilman, who chairs the state committee for Newt Gingrich. Also in attendance will be State Sen. Len Fasano and State Rep. Vin Candelora.

5. Basketball Coach Honored: Coginchaug boys' basketball coach John Forline was recently named the Anthony "Tony" Barbaro Sportsmanship Award for Boys' Sub-varsity coach of the year for the 2011-12 season. Forline was recognized during an awards dinner held on March 20.
