1. What's the Weather? Partly sunny, with a high near 36. Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 19.

2. Garden Club Celebrates 80th Year The public is invited to join the club in its anniversary celebration today at 11:15 a.m. at the Durham Public Library. As a preview of the event, we've asked one of the members to share a "gardening tip." Here it is:

Rototill only when necessary: I grow most of my vegetables in raised beds, which I’ve created by outlining them with logs and raising the soil level in the bed using the layering method described above. I rototill my asparagus bed in early Spring, but most other beds are made ready for planting by smothering the weeds and adding manure.

3. Annie, Jr. is Coming Soon! They may look nice, but these young actresses can play mean. The John Lyman Parents Association Drama program is proud to present Delaney Mendoza, Ivy Linden-Dionne, and Kelsey O'Sullivan in their production of "Annie, Jr." on May 3 and 4. The three students, from Memorial and Strong Schools, will play Miss Hannigan, the mean lady who runs the orphanage but really doesn't like "little girls."

4. Irish Dancing Is there a better way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day weekend than by enjoying some Irish dancing. This weekend the Durham Public Library will be hosting dancers from The Gray School of Irish Dance for a demonstration and some audience participation. Check out the Library's blog on Patch for more details.

5. Easter Egg Hunt Looking ahead to this month's second holiday, Easter, Durham Recreation is hosting its annual Easter Egg Hunt at Peckham Park on Saturday, March 30 at 9 a.m. Do not eat the eggs!
