Coming Soon! Durham-Middlefield Patch Hits Refresh

Next month we'll unveil a new look for Patch that helps you live better in Durham and Middlefield.

Two years ago this week, we launched Durham-Middlefiled Patch with a pretty bold mission in mind: To make your life ridiculously easy.

That meant covering the biggest stories in town — from devastating storms to efforts to restore Powder Ridge — while also helping you share even the smallest feats of neighborly kindness or communicate with your customers.

At every turn we thought of new and better ways to deliver on our promise, which is why we’re so excited to premiere an improved Durham-Middlefield Patch next month.

Come mid-December you’ll be able to:

  • Personalize Durham-Middlefield Patch by following groups. A few clicks makes your local news feed custom-fit to the topics you care about. Police blotter and shelter pets? Taxes and restaurant reviews? Why not?
  • Better organize your day by creating groups of your own. Use Patch to plan a rec sports league or school fundraiser. Everyone can finally be on the same page—literally.
  • Experience a better mobile Patch. We know you live on your smartphone—so we put everything you love about Patch in a smaller, more portable package.
  • Share comments and photos more intuitively and much, much faster.
  • Turn any blog or opinion piece into a mini-community of interest, complete with followers of your very own.

For a sneak peek, check out Long Beach (NY) Patch and let us know what you think. You can also ask any questions—large or small—by emailing Senior Regional Editor Elissa Bass at elissa@patch.com.

You can also register your interest in forming a group right when the new Durham-Middlefield Patch launches here. We'll walk you through it!

First off thanks for your hard work Michael, this is a great place to debate hot topics that impact our towns and my boating and margarita funds. Thank god for New Hampshire but I degress.................
PLEASE no more false monikors to allow posters to flex their internet muscles like they they are Arnold getting oiled up for a mr universe competition. It gets rather boring and it pains me to have to debate with some clown posting as "THE DARK LORD OF DEATH!!!!!!" Ok so there is no Dark Lord but you get where I am coming from. Thanks again for your work.

Thanks Scott, this comment must've gotten lost in the shuffle of those who you speak of. The great news is with the new Patch 2.0, comments should be entirely local. The drawback is you may end up talking to yourself a lot. But seriously, I trust that the community will engage when they see how advantageous the new Patch is to share their thoughts, concerns and victories. As always, thanks for the comment.

The traffic signal is a DOT project. I called today and spoke to the project manager who could notRead More give me an exact date of the start of construction and said he'd get back to me. That was a over four hours ago. The project, as indicated at several meetings, is scheduled for sometime this summer. The funding was put in last year and will carry over because the project is not yet ongoing.

We live on Hubbard St. in Middlefield, but there was a sighting of a very similar sounding cat inRead More the Skeet Club Road area. I'm waiting for the poster to see this photo to let me know if she thinks it's her.

Lisa, I am sorry to say this doesn't look like the kitty that has been around our house. Your MaddieRead More has more white on the chest. Do you have a picture of her from the front? I think her feet have more white, too. I'm sorry. I will keep my eyes open though. If you have another picture, I can post it at the store.
