Swimmers Welcome in the Water Again in Killingworth
DEEP reopens Chatfield Hollow beach area after tests show no elevated levels of bacteria.
The swimming area at Chatfield Hollow State Park in Killingworth, which had been closed since Tuesday, was reopened Friday, according to the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP).
The DEEP says only Black Rock State Park in Watertown will remain closed this weekend.
The DEEP says runoff from recent heavy rains caused bacteria levels to increase.
