Middlefield resident Ron Frost sends this along to neighbors in the Lake Beseck area of town.
"The black bear was sighted early this morning by my wife on Merrimac Road (the dirt road). She heard some snapping of branches and spotted a deer running, and the bear was a short distance behind it until turning and head back to the woods. Please use caution if walking your dog or children on the dirt road."
As always, residents should cover garbage, remove any leftover food from the outdoors and be cautious about using bird feeders during the summertime.
