Vista Members Design Wine Labels for Starlight Benefit

With Vista’s annual Starlight Benefit right around the corner, students and members of the program have lended a hand in preparation, by offering up their creative ideas and abilities. This year’s Starlight Benefit, a live and silent auction to benefit Vista Vocational & Life Skills Center, is set to take place on Saturday April 26th at Water’s Edge Resort and Spa in Westbrook. To complement this year’s western theme, Blazing New Trails, Vista will be producing a new series of “Vista Vines,” Vista’s own brand of wine that showcases labels created by Vista Arts Center students. Recently, a number of Vista students and members attended a Wine Label Workshop at the Vista Arts Center, to come up with potential designs for the new labels. The workshop was a great opportunity for students and members to share their vision and play a role in preparing for the event. Vista member Rachel Goodman added that she enjoyed participating in the workshop because it gave her an opportunity to be expressive, to experiment with new mediums and to dedicate time to creating artwork, something which she doesn’t always have the chance to do. The final designs for the western-themed Vista Vines bottles will be unveiled at this year’s event.

Vista Vines is produced and sold by Chamard Vineyards in Clinton, one of Vista’s Corporate Community Sponsors. Established in 1983 Chamard Vineyards is one of the Connecticut Wine Trails founding fathers. To produce “French Inspired Wines from the Connecticut Shoreline” has been the Chamard mission from the start earning the brand “Best Connecticut Wine” for twelve consecutive years. Chamard Vineyards first partnered with Vista at last year’s Starlight Benefit, to debut the Vista Vines brand. Chamard has since become an integral part of a number of Vista’s events and business ventures.
