VIDEO: Gov. Malloy Visits Brownstone; 'Cheering for Powder Ridge'

During a visit to Portland's Brownstone Exploration and Discovery Park on Thursday, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy expressed confidence in owner Sean Hayes' ability to restore Middlefield's ski area.

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy visited Brownstone Exploration and Discovery Park in Portland on Thursday morning as part of his summer-long effort to promote tourism in Connecticut.

Malloy, who was joined by members of the state's "Still Revolutionary" campaign, met with Brownstone owner Sean Hayes, who guided the Governor on a tour of the popular waterpark built in the town's historic brownstone quarries.

Following the tour, Gov. Malloy expressed optimism over Hayes' efforts to purchase and restore Powder Ridge ski area in Middlefield.

The governor’s promotional tour follows the unveiling in May of the state’s new “Still Revolutionary” marketing campaign, which features Brownstone Park as one of the state's attractions.

The promotional video can be seen here.

The Governor also had scheduled stops in Middletown, Haddam and Middlefield.

I would suggest to parents to donate a book to the classroom or school library in their child's nameRead More to celebrate the child's birthday, or other significant event, instead of sending in cupcakes or other sweets.
