Powder Ridge Full Opening Delayed; But Some Features Are a Go

The Middlefield ski resort was slated to open this weekend for the first time in seven years.

Powder Ridge's full season opening has been delayed due to lift inspections.

According to a post on its website, due to the inspections the lifts will not be operating this Friday, Saturday or Sunday (Dec. 20, 21 & 22).

But, certain portions of the park will be open.

"Powder Ridge will be open for skiing and snowboarding, and we’ll have the air bag operational weather permitting," the company said. "On Friday, passes are $15, with the air bag available for $5 per jump, five jumps for $20 and ten jumps for $35."

Sean Hayes, the owner of the Middlefield ski resort, told The Hartford Courant he expects the remaining lift inspections to be done by Monday and Tuesday.

Powder Ridge held a soft opening on Nov. 29 with a party that garnered hundreds of people. It's the first time the business has been operational since 2006.
