Classic Fall family activities are still in full swing at Lyman Orchards. Fun-seekers of all ages are getting a good taste of the bountiful harvest and also enjoying the unequaled experience of losing their way in a four-acre cornfield maze, featuring sport's greatest rivalry – the New York Yankees vs. the Boston Red Sox.
Visitors wandering through the twisting maze pathways of giant team logos will enjoy baseball trivia that tests their knowledge of Yankees and Red Sox history. Questions provide clues to finding the maze exit.
The Corn Maze also helps a great cause. One dollar of every maze admission ticket is donated to the Connecticut chapter of the American Cancer Society. Over the past 12 years, Lyman Orchards has donated more than $350,000 to help in the fight against cancer.
There are many ways visitors can create all-natural memories at Lyman Orchards, which is open every day of the week year-round. Autumn weekends especially provide a wide array of fun family activities from hand-picking Lyman’s homegrown apples and pumpkins on the picturesque hillsides of the centuries-old orchard, enjoying horse-drawn wagon rides and pony rides on the Apple Barrel grounds, to indulging in the aroma and flavor of fresh baked apple pies and cider donuts from the farm kitchen Bakery.
Great golfing is also available at Lyman Orchards' two classic 18-hole courses, at the new Golf Center practice facility and also at the family-focused Apple Nine course.
Maze hours are Wed-Fri, 3pm-6pm and Sat. & Sun., 10am-6pm. The Maze will be open through Sunday, Nov. 4th.
