Patrick Gustafson Named Vice Principal of Coginchaug High School

Longtime West Hartford educator to start new job on Monday.

Patrick Gustafson has been named Assistant Principal at Coginchaug High School.

The decision was announced at Wednesday night's special meeting of the Board of Education.

Gustafson was hired to replace Brian Bodner, who left the school district earlier this summer to become assistant principal at Daniel Hand High School in Madison.

Gustafson was chosen after a month-long search process which included interviews by students, parents and school staff.

"Patrick Gustafson's extensive experience at the high school level as well as administrative experience will enable him to easily transfer to Region 13," a press release from the school board said.

Gustafson most recently served as Assistant Principal at King Philip Middle School in West Hartford. He previously taught English at Hall High School in West Hartford for 21 years.

He's a graduate of Curry College and holds a 6th year degree from Central Connecticut State University.

Gustafson will begin his new job on August 12.

The school board continues its search for a principal and superintendent.
