Authorities have released the name of a Bristol man found dead Sunday in the Coginchaug River near Wadsworth Falls State Park in Middlefield.

Tomasz M.Skoczylas, 41, of Bristol, was pronounced dead at approximately 3 p.m. after Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) Environmental Conservation (EnCon) Police were notified that a body was in the river near the waterfall along Cherry Hill Road.

Skoczylas' body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for positive identification and confirmation of cause of death. No foul play is suspected.

A woman visiting the area on Monday morning who said she was a friend of the family said Skoczylas was not married and did not have any children.

A brother was traveling from out of state after learning of his brother's death, she said.
