Killingworth needs New, Responsible Leadership for Our Future

Bill Romero for 1st Selectman - Killingworth

Do you, the voters, believe your 1st Selectman should not take some responsibility for RSD#17's increase in its budget and that Budget's effect on "our" taxes?

Ms. Iino's defenders would place the blame for our taxes going up on "you, the Community."  Is this the kind of leadership Killingworth should have for its future?

The 1st Selectman/Person, Ms. Iino, is responsible for collecting approximately $21million in revenue for Killingworth.  Ms. Iino's defenders suggest that the 1st Selectperson is not responsible for asking RSD#17 to justify how “our” money is spent?...

I believe leadership is about leading and taking responsibility for where the Community is and where it will be in the future.  Our financial climate and economy has changed from the past and requires “our Community” to take a new direction from the past in order to keep Killingworth’s financial future affordable for “us” all.

Tax increases, property values dropping, attempts to add new layers of bureaucracy, and attempts to limit individual rights are what Ms. Iino has given Killingworth.  Ms. Iino’s defenders do not dispute this.

Yes, I am the new guy in Killingworth.  If elected, I will not be encumbered by previous agendas and decisions made by previous leaders.  My goals, decisions, and direction will be about bringing together the experience of our some of our current leaders, with the goal of keeping Killingworth’s future affordable for everyone.  I want to preserve what Killingworth is today, and to keep it affordable for everyone in the future.

We need to consider new sources of revenue for Killingworth.  We can not afford further tax increases.  Yes, I believe Killingworth needs some controlled growth, if we want to keep our way of living affordable in the future.  If we don’t allow Killingworth some controlled residential growth, if we don’t support our local businesses, if we don’t support our community projects, parks and recreation programs, we will definitely experience higher taxes.

I want to “lead” Killingworth into a future that is affordable for all of us.  I hope you will support me in doing this to preserve “our” future.

Please vote on November 8 for Bill Romero - 1st Selectman in Killingworth

Don't "community projects, parks and recreation programs" (like we don't have enough, already) translate into higher taxes?

Incompetent politicians these days seem to think that when there is nothing good that can be said about yourself, you say negatives about your opponents. It doesn't matter if they are factual or not. This type of foolishness just puts more votes in Mrs. Iino's bank. I believe Mr. Romero would garner more votes had he put his name on the ballot and never opened his mouth.
