Killingworth needs new Leadership

Bill Romero for 1st Selectman - Killingworth

We can not afford to continue with Ms. Iino as 1st Selectman.  Ms. Iino’s style of governing and leadership emphasizes maintaining the status quo, adding bureaucracy and additional regulations at a time when we can least afford it.  Killingworth’s taxes have gone up and property values have dropped under Ms. Iino’s leadership.

Ms. Iino attempted to ban smoking in our Parks.  She was stopped.  Ms. Iino attempted to regulate wood burning furnaces.  She was stopped.  Ms. Iino would have us spend more money for a full time Health Director (the Chatham Health District) that would add more bureaucracy to our Town.  She was stopped.  Killingworth can not afford Ms. Iino.

80% of our taxes dollars ($17 million) goes to District #17.  Ms. Iino had three opportunities to address the BOE, on Killingworth’s behalf, in regards to this year’s school budget.  She did not attend these meetings.  Ms. Iino attended the last meeting (4th) where the BOE approved the budget.  Our tax increase is partly the result of the District’s increase in its budget.  Ms. Iino seems uninformed and did nothing to prevent this.

If elected, I will actively look for ways to lower taxes and increase property values.  I will participate and support District #17 in becoming one of the best school districts in CT.  I will be the kind of leader who understands we live in a great place and that we  need to be able to afford to live here.  This is the kind of leader I will be for Killingworth.

Please vote Bill Romero for 1st Selectman - Killingworth
