Science and Artistry Mingle in Children's Circus Showcase

This year's Children's Circus of Middletown was an extravaganza of creativity and skill as hundreds of students demonstrated what they'd learned in just four weeks of summer camp.

The 24th annual Friday at the Macdonough School field drew a huge crowd of folks from thoroughout the city eager to see this year's Circus of Science, sponsored by and the Middletown Commission on the Arts.

For two hours, the colorful and artistic spectacle, accompanied by the 13-member circus band led by Dirck Westerveld, allowed the audience to momentarily forget the day's thick heat and humidity.
