Durham Native Has Role in The Amazing Spider-Man

Michael Barra, a 2004 Coginchaug High School graduate, plays a store clerk in the summer blockbuster.


Durham native Michael Barra has taken his acting chops from Coginchaug High School to New York and Los Angeles and back to Connecticut again.

The 2004 Coginchaug High School graduate plays T-Bone, a store clerk, in this summer's blockbuster, The Amazing Spider-Man.

These days you can check out Barra not too far from home. He plays Edna in Hairspray - the Broadway Musical at the Ivoryton Playhouse. The show opened on July 5 and runs until July 29.

I saw it last night and he stole the scene. His Character was great!

Michael's mother worked at BASREP for years. She was my favorite counselor, and I loved when she would tell me about her son and the roles he pursued. It's so exciting to hear that he's gotten a part on such a big name movie like this! May it be the first of many.
