Destination Durham: Snow Show

Tune in every Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. on Comcast Channel 19.

Spring has sprung...or has it?  Judging by the latest forecast winter seems like it is trying to keep us in its grip a little longer.

Tonight’s episode of Destination Durham, in keeping with the latest snowy weather trend, will feature the recent winter season and how the Town of Durham and Regional School District 13 dealt with the unprecedented winter weather.

This winter required an intense team effort.  Public works accompanied the ambulance and fire department on emergency calls; the building official inspected houses for failures due to ice buildup; the emergency management department helped set-up and man an emergency hotline; social services helped those who needed fuel assistance. "Most of all, we all helped each other,” stated First Selectwoman Laura Francis.

In a candid interview, Destination Durham talks with Public Works Foreman, Kurt Bober and Regional School District 13 Superintendent, Susan Vicarro. From two very different points of view they will discuss their experiences, including how the winter storms affected the residents and students, the daily operation of their departments, and the precedent this winter has set in preparing for the next season.

Destination Durham airs weekly on Tuesday’s at 7:00pm on Comcast Channel 19.
