Tree Planted in Memory of Longtime Durham Resident

Dan Lehet was a volunteer at the Durham Fair and a friend of the Middlefield Lions Club.

 

Family and friends gathered at Peckham Park in Middlefield on June 14 to remember longtime Durham resident Daniel "Dan" Lehet, who passed away last year at the age of 81.

A Dogwood tree was planted at the park in Lehet's memory.

A veteran of the Korean War, Lehet was a member of of the Middlefield/Rockfall VFW Post 10362. He also volunteered his time helping the Middlefield Lions Club and enjoyed making donuts during the Durham Fair.

"He loved the lions, he loved the VFW, he loved the Durham Fair," said daughter Ellen Gribko.

"He was down at the Durham Fair a month before it opened getting the booth ready. He just loved everything about his community."
