Strong School Helps Victims of Hurricane Sandy

The school recently held a coat drive and collected items to help the storm's victims in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

On Nov. 16, Durham Middlefield Youth and Family Services program coordinator Jane Moen delivered a car load of warm clothing and jackets to the Eddie Bauer store in Westbrook.

The items were donated last week to Strong School and will be delivered to New York Cares, an organization helping the victims of Hurricane Sandy.

Toiletries, personal items, baby items and non-perishables collected will be donated to the Shoreline Soup Kitchen to help victims here in Connecticut.

I would suggest to parents to donate a book to the classroom or school library in their child's nameRead More to celebrate the child's birthday, or other significant event, instead of sending in cupcakes or other sweets.
