What Does Memorial Day Mean to You?

Patch invites you to share your thoughts or upload your Memorial Day photos.

One photograph I captured today managed to remind me of the true meaning of Memorial Day: a banner, carried by a local Boy Scouts troop, with the names of 64 men and women from Connecticut killed in Iraq or Afghanistan.

As we mark Memorial Day, let's not forget these courageous men and women, or any others that have paid the ultimate sacrifice. Let us also remember the brave men and women who are still fighting for our freedom.

Share your thoughts on Memorial Day in the comments below.

We also invite everyone to share their photos of Memorial Day with Patch. Just click on upload photos to get started.

I would suggest to parents to donate a book to the classroom or school library in their child's nameRead More to celebrate the child's birthday, or other significant event, instead of sending in cupcakes or other sweets.
