Photos: Teens Get A Taste of the Civil War

Kids prepare and eat foods common during the Civil War at the Durham Library.

As part of its sesquicentennial commemoration of the Civil War, the Durham Library held Teen Cuisine: Civil War Food, a program about the food prepared and eaten during the war.

The event was organized by Karyn Gardiner, the library's Young Adult Librarian.

The group made hard tack, fish chowder and apple pie.
