Hundreds of bargain hunters flooded the grounds of Notre Dame Church on Main St in Durham Saturday. Held the first Saturday each month from spring through fall, the monthly event has become a very popular site for tag salers.
Thousands of items are for sale, including furniture, tools, books, records, household goods, toys, jewelry and just about anything else imaginable. Dozens of volunteers make this a well-organized, efficient event with reasonable prices. Refreshments are available as well, so there is a social angle to attending.
In addition to items that were donated to the church for sale, nearly 40 vendors rented spots to peddle their wares. There were bargains galore.
