Middlefield's Peter Schulten Places 3rd in MxCC 10K Race
Residents from both Middlefield and Durham competed in the 10th Annual MxCC $cholarship Road Race in Middletown over the weekend.
Middlefield resident Peter Schulten placed third in a 10K benefit race in Middletown over the weekend.
The seventh grader at Frank Ward Strong School was one of 200 people to participate in the MxCC $cholarship Road Race last Saturday in Middletown, which was broken up into three separate running events: 4K, 5K and 10K.
Schulten, who turns 12 on Halloween, clocked in at 43:55 in the 10K race, or 6.2 miles. He has competed in a number of competitive races over the past year, some of which you can see in a blog by his mother and Patch contributor, Jennifer Schulten.
Some other Durham and Middlefield residents ran in the above races. Here are some of the highlights:
In the 5K race Middlefield residents Hannah Huddleston and Megan Lower won their 14 & under age group, with Huddleston coming in at 22:26 and Lower at 25:34. In the 40-49 age group, Jeff Lower of Middlefield came in at 24:05.
Also in the 5K race, Durham residents Trevor Scott and Owen Gonzales came in at 21:31 and 24:43 respectively, with Scott ranking first and Gonzales third in the 14 & under age group. Durham resident William Hall came in third in the 20-29 age group with a time of 26:14 while Erin Wright placed first in the 30-39 age group with a time of 25:32
