Durham Boy Scout Troop 27 member Shane Phenicie was honored during Tuesday evening's Board of Selectmen meeting in Middlefield for his recent achievement of reaching scouting's highest honor.
Phenicie, who lives in Middlefield, earned his Eagle Scout badge on April 20 after demolishing and rebuilding a storage shed at The Church of Epiphany in Durham last summer.
The 18-year-old will graduate from Vinal Technical High School on Wednesday and will attend SUNY Cobleskill in New York this fall where he plans to study agricultural engineering.
First Selectman Jon Brayshaw read a proclamation recognizing Phenicie's achievement into the record at the meeting.
