Library Visitors Dig Into Reading

The Levi E. Coe Library celebrated its Summer 2013 "Dig Into Reading" Program on Wednesday by inviting workers from W.I. Clark of Wallingford to Middlefield for a "Meet, Greet & Eat."

Young children got a chance to climb into an excavator, put on a hard hat and even blow a tractor-trailer horn.

Asked how the event was going, children's librarian Victoria "Miss Vicki" Berry said, "It's an excavator!"

The library's summer reading program encourages school children to continue reading throughout the summer.
