Join Durham Grown Now!

The Town of Durham has created a website to showcase locally grown and produced products.

This is an invitation for everyone to visit the Durham Grown web page, which is still under construction here. The idea for the web page came from the Durham Agriculture Commission and was created by Kim Garvis, Durham Town Clerk.

The purpose of the Durham Grown page is to provide Durham residents and other interested persons with information about where to purchase Durham Grown goods and services.  Hopefully, it will become a useful tool allowing users to find fresh, locally grown/produced items such as beef, swine, eggs, milk, cheese, fruits, vegetables, hay, honey, maple syrup, Christmas trees, wine, etc.; and/or services like farm stands, riding lessons, boarding, training, large animal veterinary, farrier, fiber spinning/weaving, etc.

If you're interested in having your farm, business, etc. listed on the Durham Grown web page you will need to complete and submit a registration form.  The easy to fill out form can be downloaded and submitted as indicated on the Durham Grown web page, and it is expected that copies may also be available in the Durham Library and Town Hall.  The listings are provided at no charge and only agricultural businesses will be listed.

I would suggest to parents to donate a book to the classroom or school library in their child's nameRead More to celebrate the child's birthday, or other significant event, instead of sending in cupcakes or other sweets.
