Iwanski, Kindschi Honored by Coginchaug Football Team

Sergeant William Iwanski of Durham and Petty Officer Kenneth Kindschi of Middlefield are the latest veterans to be honored by the Coginchaug football team’s Stars for Vets project. 

Sergeant Iwanski served in the United States Army from 1961–1964. His time in the service included a 13-month tour of duty in Vietnam in1963-1964. Sergeant Iwanski and his wife Donna have two grandchildren in District 13 schools. 

Petty Officer Kindschi served in the United States Navy from 1948-1953 and the Naval Reserves from 1954-1960. During his active duty years he served with Submarine Squadron 10 and was deployed throughout the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. Petty Officer Kindschi and his wife Betty had three children and two grandchildren graduate from Coginchaug High School.
