Even though the Durham Fair is around the corner, it's never too early to start preparing for fall events.
Specifically: the Durham Fall Festival on Oct. 19.
The Economic Development Commission is promoting a town-wide
festival which will include sales from retailers, activities on the Town Green and at the library, a fall decorating contest, and more.
Commission is encouraging businesses to offer special sales and promotions that
day and encouraging shoppers to explore retail offerings in Durham, and join in the
educational and recreational activities on the green.
The Durham Volunteer Fire
Co., Durham Agriculture Commission, and Durham Ambulance Corps will be on the
green and activities are planned at the library.
The Registrars of Voters will be on hand to
register eligible Durham residents and the Durham Middlefield Interlocal Agreement
Advisory Board will be taking orders for their composters and digesters.
Activities on the green will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Store openings are as
posted in the individual businesses.
Durham Fair Association Farm Museum and the Durham Historical Society will both
be open that day. The Durham Garden Club will be decorating the Durham
Historical Society front yard and encourages homeowners to enter a decorating
contest jointly sponsored by the Durham Garden Club and the Economic Development
