Durham Boy Scout Finishes BBQ Pit to Earn Eagle Scout

Matt Amendola, a Boy Scout with Troop 270 of Durham, built a BBQ pit at the United Churches of Durham for his Eagle Scout Project and was recently awarded scouting highest honor.

Remember that Fried Dough Dinner last summer to help Matt Amendola from Boy Scout Troop 270 raise money for his Eagle project for a BBQ pit at the United Churches of Durham? Well, the project is complete and has already been put to good use!

On October 20th, Matt Amendola earned and was awarded the Rank of Eagle Scout. His ceremony was held at the United Churches of Durham. Building the BBQ pit and roof was quite an accomplishment and what better way to celebrate his Eagle Rank then hosting the reception at the BBQ pit for his family, friends and fellow scouts.
