Saving the Farm @ the Groton Senior Center
James Powers talks about his new book, Saving the Farm: A Journey through Time, Place and Redemption, for Discover Local Authors tonight (January 16) at 6:30 p.m. at the Groton Senior Center. Saving the Farm is the story of how the Dudley Farm of North Guilford, CT became a museum to preserve and represent a vanishing past. The struggle to save the farm took on a crusade like quality for the small group that took on the task. Powers teaches history at Guilford High School. Over the years, his interests and expertise have expanded to include local archaeology and the study of 17th to 19th Century New England architecture which he periodically teaches at the high school. Powers is a graduate of Wesleyan University where he also received two master’s degrees. This event is co-sponsored by the Groton Public Library and Groton Senior Center. Free and open to all. NO registration is required.
