Coginchaug High School Jazz Band earned a 4th place ranking and "Honorable Mention" trophy - L5 division -  at the Berklee College High School Jazz Festival last night in Boston, Mass.

There were 15 bands in the L5 division. Bands travel from all over the United States to participate in this well attended music festival.

Jack Riotte received an "Outstanding Soloist" award for the L5 Division.

Outstanding job! Coginchaug has a steep history of fine performances in competition that you can ring the new field with the trophies. Perhaps the new super and BOE chair can once again see the real value in the music department and stop taking funds from them. Again congratulations to the kids that have done so well under intense pressure!!!

Congratulations to the musicians. Nice to see that they FINALLY participated in a competition that is reasonable close to home instead of the ridiculously expensive locations parents have had to shell out big bucks to send their child(ren) to in the past. Let's hope this trend continues.

congrats to the Jazz Band. I love the music program at RSD 13. These teachers work so hard and the children really show the hard work. Congrats to all the music teachers in the district
