Donations Needed for Wreaths Across America - Deadline Approaching

On December 15, 2012, local groups will aid Wreaths Across America in honoring our veterans by laying wreaths on the graves of veterans in the Middletown Veterans’ Cemetery and the Veterans’ Cemetery in Rocky Hill. The ceremony will be held simultaneously with the “Wreaths Across America™” ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery and ceremonies in State Veterans’ Cemeteries, Veterans’ Monuments, and local cemeteries. The motto of that ceremony is "Remember, Honor, Teach."

You can help honor our veterans by donating wreaths. Contributions for wreaths to be placed on gravestones at the CT State Veterans Cemeteries can be made on-line at www.wreathsacrossamerica.org.  Enter “CTDAR006” as the sponsoring group code (for an extra donated wreath with every two purchases) and the code of the cemetery of your choosing:

State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown   (CTMVCM)

Col. Raymond Gates Memorial Cemetery in Rocky Hill   (CTCRGR)

You may sponsor a wreath in honor of someone at www.wreathsacrossamerica.org.  They will receive a message from Wreaths Across America that you have sponsored a wreath in their honor.

You can also participate in the ceremony. Help in laying the wreaths is always welcome. Please see the "Volunteers Needed" announcement for more information.

I would suggest to parents to donate a book to the classroom or school library in their child's nameRead More to celebrate the child's birthday, or other significant event, instead of sending in cupcakes or other sweets.
