Superintendent Survey, Notre Dame Flea Market, Cub Scouts Enrollment

Five things to help plan your day on this 5th of September.

Good Thursday morning from Durham-Middlefield Patch! Here's some news to start your day:

  1. Have you taken the survey yet on the new Region 13 superintendent? The Board of Education is seeking the public's input on what it wants in a new school chief. Click here to find out more.

  2. Want to enroll your kids in Cub Scouts? Middlefield Pack 33 is holding a registration event on Sept. 14 at Peckham Park at 4 p.m. to those interested in learning more about scouting. Details here.

  3. TRAFFIC: Don't forget that Route 147 in Durham is down to one-lane on the bridge over the Coginchaug River. Also the state is conducting overnight road work between exits 13 and 15. So, if you're driving on the highway between 5 p.m. and 9 a.m., expect some slowdown due to reduced lanes. For more information on road work, click here to check the DOT's interactive travel map.

  4. There will be a large flea market and tag sale at the Notre Dame Church, 272 Main St., on Saturday, Sept. 7, beginning at 8 a.m. Click here for more details.

  5. Don't forget that Durham and Middlefield children can enter the state's essay contest honoring veterans. The deadline is Oct. 4. Click here to find out more.
